Here’s a few highlights of some of the things we’ve been up to recently.
Saturday 11 October 2025
We were excited to have had our first invite to St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds, in a charity fundraiser with Finborough School, Stowmarket. The evening showcased the range of the choir’s repertoire to a large and appreciative audience, and it was fantastic to hear Finborough students in such fine voice.
Saturday 16 August 2025
We were honoured to have been asked back once again to the Home Guard Association in Barnes, for a relaxed summer’s evening concert, showcasing a range of songs from the repertoire, old and new. The enthusiastic crowd were a big part of making it such a fantastic evening, where we took the opportunity to perform some of the “lighter” pieces from our rep. Thanks so much for having us, and see you next time!
Friday 13 June 2025
An unforgettable occasion to celebrate 120 years since the first of London Welsh’s 50+ players represented the Lions (and 54 years since the seven LWRFC players made the 1971 tour). Joined on stage by the likes of Gareth Edwards, Mervyn Davies, John Taylor and Mike Phillips, all hosted by Rob Brydon, we played our part in this unique event to help raise funds for the rugby club’s ambitious plans to improve our facilities.
Sunday 11 May 2025
This unique collaboration between LWRCC, Cor Meibion Gwalia and Brighton Welsh MVC celebrated the lives of Derek Rollason (a member of all three choirs) and Colin Hill (a great LW RFC supporter, an Hon Member of the Gwalia and a member of the Voyagers) whose funerals in April 2024 were just two days apart. Both lived in Sussex. It was a joyous occasion and great to sing with friends old and new.
Saturday 26 April 2025
We’re so excited to be back on home ground at the gem that is the Barn Church in Kew. As well as unveiling some of our new repertoire, alongside some of our favourites from the new album, we’ll be raising funds for the sports injuries charity Voyagers. Tickets available here.
Saturday 29 March
We’re excited to be returning to Westerham for this special fundraising event to help the Trust undertake improvements to the hall’s facilities. We’ll also be supporting the Orpheus Centre, joined by Orpheus soloists with Sir Richard Stilgoe. Tickets here.
Friday 14 February
We were thrilled to be part of a truly special night at the stunning Charterhouse School in Surrey, alongside World Cup-winning international Andy Gomarsall and journalist Donal MacIntyre in support of the Samson Centre for MS.
Saturday 14 December
It was fantastic to celebrate the last home game of the year – another bonus point win for our rampant first team – as we gathered at Old Deer Park to welcome old friends and new for a relaxed get together and informal sing.
Monday 16 December
A wonderful evening, busking the night away at Waterloo train station. And all in a good cause, raising money for leading UK homeless charity St Mungo’s.
Sunday 10 November
We were at Ealing Golf Club to watch the incoming captain – a proud Welsh woman – drive-in, and then were proud to take part in a lunchtime cabaret performance.
Saturday 4 May
Home is where the heart is, they say, and we were delighted to be invited to return to a venue just a short walk from our spiritual home at Old Deer Park.
